Birch Lake, Minnesota, USA Artist
Address |
Pam
has spent a lifetime understanding the connectivity between humans and
their environment that establishes a sense of place for the human spirit.
Her ancestors have lived in the United States since 1640, in the the New
England and Appalachian Regions in the eastern United States. Pam comes
from generations of artists and craft people. Growing up in the Great
Lakes region, her nomadic lifestyle began as an adult when she moved to
New England, New York City, Chicago, San Francisco. From the Sierra Mountains
and deserts of California, to the rocky Atlantic coast of Maine, to the
soft sandy beaches of Florida, Pam has witnessed the effect nature and
other environments and culture have on developing our sense of self and
place in the universe. Pam
discovered her own sense of place in the northern state of Minnesota with
its 10,000 lakes enjoying the vegetative diversity of prairie grassland,
boreal forest, big woods, mixed with the culture of the big cities of
St. Paul and Minneapolis (Twin Cities). Only here did the ambiance of
the natural environment interact with her Celtic and Scandinavian cultural
interests to nurture a sense of belonging. Pam resides in Little Canada
(near the Twin Cities) with her husband Terry.
